Artist Statement

I am dedicated to communicating my love of digital art with the world. My name is Wylie Douglas; I am turning 20 years old and a second-year student attending CU Boulder, currently enrolled in Digital Art. I have always been passionate about drawing, editing, and creating digital artwork. My blogs and artwork will include videos and pictures edited in Photoshop. I am from Los Angeles, California, so I utilize pictures of the ocean and environments I am used to back home. Thanks to my mom's artistic abilities and creativity, I discovered my passion for drawing and collaging photographs. My artwork captures the essence of inner peace and happiness. My drawings reflect the sketches and doodles I would create as a child in the middle of class. Important aspects of my life that I choose to implement in my artwork are family, friends, and memories. Ultimately, my goal is to capture time through these vital aspects of life. I also plan to create digital art related to my fraternity rush shirts, incorporating the letters AKL, which stands for Alpha Kappa Lambda. I will collage these letters with images and drawings of my brothers and the memories we have created this year.
